Games S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Lost Alpha All reviews Review from Andrey27

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Lost Alpha is the most global modification for the game S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl. It was created in order to bring back “the same S.T.A.L.K.E.R.” that GSC showed us in the early builds of the game. Dezowave partially managed to do this, but only partially. Dezowave didn't bring everything back, but it changed everything else for the better. The modification, due to its scope, gained independence.

When I first started the game, I immediately said “WOW!” effect! The previous locations have been changed beyond recognition, they have become much larger, and the graphics have become more realistic. The plot has been slightly reworked (but I can’t say this with confidence, because I couldn’t complete the original due to an error), many innovations have been added that diversify the gameplay (for example, using a computer, correspondence via PDA, transport, etc.) and which will not let you get bored. In principle, nothing has changed from the arsenal. At the end, there is now a free play, but in my opinion it is useless, because the player goes through the main plot, although you can find a lot of interesting things if the player has not really wandered anywhere. You can modify weapons. For me, the disadvantages of the game were: long running around locations - go get 1 item in another location, and then come back; poorly implemented transport - cars are expensive, gasoline is also not endless, but finding or buying is problematic, and driving itself does not bring much pleasure. And now the most important thing is that the game has become much more stable! Now you won't be bothered by a bunch of crashes and errors like in the original!

Result: the game turned out to be undoubtedly good, and for me, as a fan of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. universe, this is the best modification!
