S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Lost Alpha

Great mod for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. This is one of the most global modifications and, probably, the most similar to the Shadow of Chernobyl. Initially, LA set the task of returning “that same S.T.A.L.K.E.R.” This was partially successful, but not everything was returned. But a lot of things were added. The plot has been changed, as have the locations. The graphics have also been changed. In LA DC the graphics are one of the best among modifications. Overall, this is a great mod, one of the best on S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl

I am a fan of “reality” (without non-existent guns, buildings, textures incompatible with reality) mods and “approximation to reality” (optimal prices from merchants, difficulty of passage, embodiment of book ideas such as activated artifacts, a limited backpack).

In my opinion, this mod is one of the best, since it managed to embody the original ideas of the official developers, complementing them, but without complicating the game to the limit and leaving a certain balance between “approaching reality” and game world.

Pros of themod:

+ a lot of Easter eggs, hiding places, hidden spots that allow you to spend money only on cartridges and sometimes repairing equipment;

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Lost Alpha is the most global modification for the game S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl. It was created in order to bring back “the same S.T.A.L.K.E.R.” that GSC showed us in the early builds of the game. Dezowave partially managed to do this, but only partially. Dezowave didn't bring everything back, but it changed everything else for the better. The modification, due to its scope, gained independence.

Cool mod, I really liked it. Pros:

1) Good soundtrack, creepier than the original. Adds atmosphere.

2) The graphics for Stalker are excellent, with all sorts of modern graphic bells and whistles.

3) Well-thought-out survival, it also works for the atomsphere. In general, the gameplay is good, there is even stealth, and for a Stalker it’s not bad, although not ideal.

4) The plot has been well reworked, there are good side quests.

5) Old and new locations in a converted form. There are also a couple completely new ones. They all look gorgeous, it’s fun to just walk around and admire, much better than the original. In addition, a lot of vegetation has been added, which makes the Zone more wild.

Evaluating a fan mod is difficult. Firstly, they did everything out of sheer enthusiasm, and if they made donations, believe me, this is not the level where you can live on them. Desowave was really able to sensually convey the atmosphere of the builds and create the same Stalker, in his own understanding. I can guarantee that after the first launch you will simultaneously recognize Stalker and for you everything will be like the first time. And this already costs a lot.

Lost Alpha, this is one of the best mods for Stalker, I’ll tell you, they fixed almost everything that was possible, added a lot of interesting things, locations, cut out mutants (yes, they were in other mods for a long time, but still) Leveling up weapons, and so on. ....

True, there is one minus, this ONLY minus for me was that the caches were not found when searching the corpses, otherwise, I was satisfied with the mod.

The worst mod I've played:

- dimensionless EMPTY locations;

- a bunch of all sorts of UNNECESSARY and UNINTERESTING crap,

such as canned food, water, useless bandages;

- no monetary rewards, as a reward -

a bunch of crap;

- it’s very difficult to find a first aid kit from someone;

- idiocy with batteries for a flashlight (in general - a gem!) -

they run out in 20 seconds, but are expensive;

- non-show-off and very expensive weapon upgrades;

— I still haven’t figured out how to repair suits;

- advertised car purchases are nonsense, minimum

price - 150,000! In the absence of monetary rewards, you have to play this mod all your life in order to earn money for a car (this is apparently an approximation to “reality”?);

- the general impression of boredom and absurdity, plus crashes.
