Hmmm. The sequel was bad. The first part had its own charm, its own Japanese horror, and the second became a typical, and not the best Western joke, with a ton of pathos, and some pleasant details and mechanics from the first part. There are figurines left, inside of which the keys to the lockers are hidden, a nurse from the looking glass, the ability to collect jars of green gel, but that atmosphere is gone, that greenish tint in the ancient graphics, that incomprehensible and broken world in someone else’s brain.
All this was replaced by a slightly open world, although Evil Within 1 was an excellent linear project, new, but not atmospheric graphics, poor facial expressions of the characters in dialogue, a pretentious plot, without the mystery of what was happening, as in the first game. Eh, boring.
Yes, even every texture in the first part felt much better than in the second.
However, the second part is also a good joke with the ability to stealth, but it’s no longer horror.
