Excellent plot, large open world, atmosphere, graphics are generally pleasant.
DISADVANTAGES:
No serious ones
I suspected that the game would be a masterpiece long before the game was released. A month and a half before the release, the gameplay began to fall almost to the point of serious spoilers. And this is good, if the game is good, then there is nothing to hide. After release the game turned out as I expected. The plot keeps you in suspense throughout the game and doesn’t let go until the very end. The game is especially necessary for those who have read Sapkowski’s original works; the game contains many memories from the books and, in general, the plot itself is more connected with the books than with the previous parts. The world itself is also designed quite well, they didn’t deceive us here either. All side quests are unique; you will never find repetition, as is often the case in open world RPGs. Even if you accepted a simple courier order, there will definitely be a catch along the way. It’s worth mentioning separately about the witcher’s orders, a certain witcher’s instinct has been added here, which will suggest looking for clues in a certain radius, and even if there is some monotony in this, the witcher’s orders themselves have a storyline, sometimes quite confusing. The combat system for an RPG is quite decent and is implemented simpler than in the Witcher 2 - dodges, counterattacks, dodges and also added a crossbow... it does little damage, but it is especially useful underwater where you cannot use signs and a sword, and you can shoot down the enemy from the air. Combat from a horse is very inconvenient, although I don’t remember a game where it was normal. Leveling up has changed - now you can use only 12 skills at a time, although there are not many skill points in the game and you have to choose what to focus on - combat skills, or witcher signs, or alchemy. The potion system has also changed, now you only need to brew a potion once by collecting the ingredients, and then it will brew potions automatically during meditation, the ability to drink potions during battle has also returned, but their duration has been reduced. But despite the abundance of such opportunities and the large open world (the game has 2 huge locations - Velen and Skellige, and Skellige is larger in volume than one map in GTA 5) the game is more focused on the plot. In principle, this has always been the case in The Witcher, but now also in combination with a large open world. Of course there are downsides. Personally, there are not many changes to the world that were so boasted before the release, well, one village will burn in the end. But after the ending you completely feel that the world has died because the solutions named in the endings will not enter the real world after completion, moreover, you won’t even find friends anywhere else and the only thing left is to complete unfinished tasks, some of which may disappear after completion main storyline. In general, I don’t consider this such a serious disadvantage, because the world has never interacted better anywhere anyway. And when I play this game, I don’t notice the minor disadvantages at all. I would recommend the game not only to Witcher fans, but to all RPG fans in general, because this is clearly the best RPG that has come out since Morrowind. The optimization is quite good and I was surprised that the game at ultra settings only needs 2GB of video memory, although many other nexgen projects require 3-4GB. One has only to note one guzzling tincture from NVIDIA hair works, which consumes quite a lot and requires today's top video card or even a bunch of them.
