The first Witcher can (and should) be called a classic of the role-playing game genre. It stands on a par with such legends as Diablo, Gothic, Dragon Age(Origins) and Dungeon Siege(I). For me, The Witcher took second position in the list of the best and favorite RPGs, right after Dragon Age Origins. There is so much variety in it that even if you play through the game twice, you won’t see half of it. Of course, there are no fundamental changes between adventures, but there are many options for completing quests and states of the world. But I won’t go into detail, I’ll just outline the pros and cons.

+ Variety of quests (including their variability)

+ Character development (huge number of perks)

+ Alchemy (many potions and use of various ingredients)

+ Combat system ( 3 development paths, 2 swo… Read full

I completed the game a little over half a year ago. Fortunately, I was able to overcome the barrier of misunderstanding the combat, since I was already on the verge of uninstalling the game 5 minutes after the start of the playthrough. And after 5-10 hours of playing, I realized that, on the contrary, it was well-developed and worthy of attention. Different modes/styles of combat allow you not to get bored and constantly adapt to a certain type of enemy.

The game has a lot of advantages and for myself I have highlighted the following:

+ cards of women (in my opinion, a very cool feature that dilutes the gray everyday life of a monster killer 😉)

+ alcohol (opportunity to drink too much NPC to get a special item, the influence of alcohol on the course of battle, as well as the presence of perks… Read full

A worthy game based on Sapovsky's Universe. A story about Geralt that is not in the books. Both this and the 2nd part of The Witcher, of course, pale in comparison to the 3rd part of the game, but it’s worth playing them.

What to say about part 1:

+ I liked the combat. Unusual and varied.

+ Constant moral choice in the plot. Moreover, when playing through it again, the game still does not give answers to all the questions and it is not clear whether this or that decision was fair. This really immerses you in the painful and harsh atmosphere of the unfolding story.

+Original erotic content with trading cards.

- Lack of open world.

How many times I initially heard from friends “DOWNLOAD DOWNLOAD PLAY PASS” The Witcher. I refused and referred to the graphics, saying, ugh, pixels are already old. But one day on a voyage (yes, I’m a sailor) I decided to play the Witcher, since the games had dried up on the ship and I had two parts. I installed it and the first day I really didn’t like it, everything was so plasticine and the world was empty, and the combat system did damage when Geralt was motionless in a stance, the next day I began to delve into the plot, and on the third day I could no longer get away from the game , since it completely engrossed me, I completed all the quests and read the dialogues, which were written perfectly.

In conclusion, I want to say, playing the game in 2019 (it was 19 at that time), the grap… Read full

At the time of its release, the game was a breakthrough of sorts.

In terms of gameplay, it is one of the latest popular story-oriented RPGs with dialogues, in which it is difficult to go far without crafting and full exploration of locations, even on the lowest difficulty. Plus, this is a hybrid of Diabloids and third-person shooters, since there are controls in both styles. And even in quests with pointers, you need to think about what to do and in what order to get the desired result.

In terms of history, it’s hard to say even now. The situation is classic in such games - the hero has lost his memory and wants to remember everything, but some bad guys are bothering his friends, and he has to deal with everything at once. But within the framework of the Witcher universe, it does not depart … Read full

Poles... They are so STRANGE.

Combat, if you have problems with timings, will turn your butt first into a Japanese flag, and then into a British one.

When playing this game you need to THINK, and modern players really don’t like this. You also need to read the books to understand what’s what and who all these b... people are and what kind of Horus Lupercal they want from you.

The quests are divine, and if you understand or know that there is something to it, you can play the game for fun.

The strangest gaming experience of your life. I recommend it.

One of the best book adaptations in the gaming industry.

As an ardent fan of Mr. Sapkowski’s work, I was incredibly moved by the quality of the work done. Before us is exactly the character that the author draws, in the same world, with the same dark atmosphere of greed, blood and magic. And with the same torment of choice with invariably nasty consequences.

The white-haired witcher swings alternately a pair of swords, destroying people and monsters with equal dexterity. Although, sometimes you don’t understand who does more harm...

We are told a new chapter of stories about the White Wolf. I’ll be lying if I say that initially I liked the fact that the book series was changing, because they clearly make it clear to us that this is the end, and the end is final. The author kills almost all th… Read full

The game is a legend! I don’t see the point in talking much about her. Everything has already been said long ago. I’ll just share the problem(

I wanted to re-pass it last week. I reached the merchant quarter, and that’s bad luck. The character who needs to give the wyvern heads (or another part of them) simply did not appear. I read what they write on the forums In general, the only thing that could help was downloading the patch and replaying the game, I had no desire to do this, and I deleted the game out of emotion...

The first Witcher is a game that I put off completing for a very long time, because when I tried it for the first time, I was terribly unhappy with its gameplay, but after a long time I finally decided to complete it.

The first thing that catches your eye and repels you is the gameplay and combat. Frankly speaking, they are very so-so, but if you overcome yourself for a couple of hours and get used to it, you stop paying attention to them and only the positive aspects of the game are revealed.

Plot, characters, history, atmosphere, music, humor, side quests... All this is done at the highest level and even at the moment the game plays very well and it is interesting to go through it both for the first time and to replay it, since the game is not at all linear and the choices influence what will happen in the game world further.

Master Gervant... today not everyone is able to appreciate all the advantages of this game. The plot alone is worth special attention. I played it as a boy, and started only because it was not too demanding... only a couple of years later, when I completed it for the second time, and then I was able to understand all the advantages of this game.. She pushed me to read the entire series of books, and Where I'm from, it was very difficult to get them. and now, many years later, I happily want to immerse myself in this masterpiece, having already thoroughly studied the entire world of this universe. This is the game where you want to read notes, books and look into all the places. I NEED ALCOHOL.

The Witcher 1. The beginning of the illustrious trilogy of Polish RPGs. So what is this very “beginning”?

What initially caught my eye was so many laudatory reviews on Steam, where they tell how great and charming this game is. But looking at Geralt’s face from this part, I felt a certain slyness in their words. Is acting with THIS face really that good?

I would also like to say that I am a huge fan of Andrzej Sapkowski's books, and am also familiar with the other two Witcher games. And therefore, I know the ENT of this world completely, so there were no difficulties with the perception of the plot and narrative. And I can’t even imagine how everything that happens in the game would be accepted by a person who doesn’t know Geralt’s story.

So, about the RPG itself. How did I feel in the prolo… Read full

I liked it. but mostly the plot. I was so drawn out that my night passed in 5 minutes) I remember how I gasped at the dawn) that’s how I fell in love with the Witcher series)

A great game that will never be forgotten. She will easily take up all your time and even a little more). You can talk a lot about it, but everything has already been said by other players. I’m not afraid to call it not just a game, but a little life on the other side of the screen. Every game has its downsides, but here you simply don’t notice them.

One of the best adaptations of books in the gaming industry.

First I bought a copy of the disc for 150 rubles

But it went to hell.

How surprised I was that GOG started

giving it away for installing their client.

And then I bought it for 29 rubles on Steam

I immediately took it for myself and gave it to my bro.

Ballance in fights.

A great adventure that never gets boring.

Great romantic relationships.

Quests to protect residents.

Reliability about books and the Netflix series

Friendship and mutual assistance of comrades.

Fascinating, picturesque world

with its own setups.

The detective component is to know who framed

and the mode of choosing actions.

Game of the year for all time.

A saga that will always improve and delight us.

I recommend this game to everyone, even a fan. Read full

I haven’t played the third Witcher yet, but I finished the first and really liked it. Thanks to Director's cut Enhanced Edition, the textures look pretty good. The facial expressions of the characters are very impressive, despite the fact that the game is almost 15 years old. True, the fights with bosses are too fierce. And in general, the combat is clearly outdated. Very atmospheric sound.

If I liked the first Witcher so much, then I think from the third I’ll just fly.

I advise you to go through the game after reading the book series, because

it’s much more interesting. The game has an excellent plot, beautiful graphics,

wonderful soundtrack. Overall a great game!

This is the game of the year, 2007!

1. Plot. Keeps you in suspense from the very beginning of the screensaver until the very end. There is nothing superfluous, not any water, everything is to the point. Additional tasks also ask themselves to be completed.

2. The combat system is very diverse. Although at first glance it seems simple: you just poke the left button in time to hit with a sword, and the right one to use one of the magic signs. But in order to defeat stronger monsters or if there are too many people, then be sure to use all sorts of additional improvements (potions, lubricating oils, runes, etc.)

3. The leveling system is quite simple to understand : if you want to hit hard with a steel sword, upgrade your skills for a steel sword; if you want to wield a silver sword perfectly, u… Read full
