What good things can I say about the reimagined Thief??? Stealing... Garrett's favorite pastime. Thefts take up the lion's share of the game here (which is not surprising) and are quite interesting to do. This is largely due to the well-developed animation of the hands and movements of our protagonist. In general, as for the visual component of the “new thief”, there is nothing to complain about here. The old Unreal Engine 3 produces a really gorgeous picture. The same applies to the sound and music component of the game; the composer did his job excellently. Stealth... Hiding in the shadows is still fun, we have to thank the game's authors for this, who made quite smart opponents.
Now it’s worth talking about the weaknesses of this project, of which, unfortunately, there are quite a few. The plot... The main "highlight" of the original trilogy in the restart does not have any revelations, there is plenty of stereotypes in it and, what is most unpleasant, it is absolutely impossible to empathize with the heroes. City... The nonlinearity and open world promised by the authors turned out to be a series of corridors with rare branches. Also, this should include long loading times between locations, which finally finish off the “openness” of the entire game world.
To sum it up... The restart of the cult trilogy about the adventures of the “master thief” Garrett turned out to be very controversial. Although a beautiful, but not a memorable adventure, with a couple of interesting moments.
