The game is great. I've played a little over 960 hours and continue to play and wait for the release.
The gameplay, mechanics, graphics, various modes of difficulty and realism are very interesting.
Unfortunately, the realism of the crew control is realized, I think, by 40 percent in total.
in the game you can control only from 5 to 7 (with mods up to 9) officers in three directions (commander, mechanic and radio operator). In reality, on submarines of type VII, for example, there were about 48-52 people, of whom: 4 officers - Commander; First mate, aka commander of the mine torpedo warhead; 2nd watchman, also known as commander of warhead guns; Chief Mechanic or Engineer. If their (officers') positions and responsibilities can still be implemented in the game, like the submarine foremen (navigator, boatswain, senior diesel operator, senior motorman), then the situation with non-commissioned officers is worse, with the exception of the radio operator and acoustician. And there were about 12-14 non-commissioned officers on the boat. These are helmsmen (movements and dives), machinists, mechanics, torpedo operators of NTA and KTA, electrical mechanics, technicians, fur/repairmen, miners, signalmen, artillerymen, anti-aircraft gunners, etc. There were also about 22-30 sailors, who were divided into two divisions (marine and technical) with their own responsibilities and subordination to their immediate superior (commander). Nevertheless, this “flaw” does not make the game any less realistic and exciting.
I hope that changes or additions to personnel management, additions of boats of other types (IX, XXI, XII) will appear in the DLS or UBOAT-2 (I agree to wait another five years).
But the game is still very interesting, especially as a captain (at least in test mode for now).
I recommend!!!
