Vagrant Story - Difficult j-RPG (Japanese RPG) - I never completed it.
When I played, I didn’t know the mechanics of leveling up weapons - I knocked out 1 xp of damage from both the boss dragon and an ordinary Unit enemy (approximately, i.e. caused minimal damage...), and killed the Enemy purely with the number of chains, those. it is possible to overwhelm an enemy not by the amount of XP, but by the number of blows dealt to him.
I couldn’t understand why my Damage = 0-1xp even when Risk = 0 - in those days there was no accessible Internet, and I didn’t really try to dig up Information on the passage - I thought it was intended by the Developers... and in general somehow I wasn’t puzzled by this question - I couldn’t adequately fight the Enemies - well, that means the Game is so complex - I couldn’t even think that I was doing something wrong.
I didn’t know that Weapons dynamically change their Characteristics, and therefore I tried to kill everyone (enemies of different types...) with the same Sword, and by the middle of the Game it was simply unbearable when some ordinary Goblin became mini for you -Boss.
I chose a weapon as usual, based on the Damage indicator...
Later I tried to beat the Game on an Emulator, but I didn’t know about YouTube then, and for some reason I didn’t have such an idea to look it up on the Internet what's so funny about this?) to a certain type of enemy...
About Magic in the Game, which is also diverse.
About the GG leveling system (about the local RPG system), etc...
I haven’t talked about many things yet, because I only completed half the game, and I simply couldn’t go further because of my "wrong pumping".
That is I didn’t understand much in this Game at the time, and what I learned later, I don’t see the point of voicing, because this is no longer my point of view...
Playing this Game for me The plot was absolutely incomprehensible, i.e. not a bit at all.
I watched the Screensaver, I played and didn’t understand what was happening at all, because I was playing the English version...
And only after a long time, when I seriously decided to understand the Plot for myself - I laid everything out for myself shelves, and was very surprised at how excellent the Plot was.
The plot of Vagrant Story deserves a Film Adaptation, or at least a Book)
It’s a pity that after 20 years+ we haven’t seen either a Remake or at least some kind of HD re-release - I’m not even talking about the continuation of this Game, although how the ending of the Game seems to hint at a Continuation.
But we are still waiting! Fans have been waiting for a sequel (or some kind of remake) for more than 20 years!
Another underrated Masterpiece!
A masterpiece that has neither a Sequel, nor a Remake, nor a Reissue.
Forgotten and flushed down the toilet by the Developers themselves - a Masterpiece...
