Of course, this is an attempt at resuscitation of the “old school”, and I must say it’s a good attempt. However, when rating the game, I would not give it more than 5 out of 10. Why? Because there must be logic in the game. Yes, part of the logic is inevitably sacrificed for the sake of gameplay, but there are adequate solutions and... and what we have. A few SPOILERS ahead.
First of all, I would like to note the plot among the minuses. We were promised an adult plot and difficult choices. Okay, we, fans of the first fallouts, are no longer children, we understand that it is impossible to save everyone and everything requires a price. But... having barely completed the first mission, we set off for a walk in a friendly group. We are called over the radio with the goal of delighting us with a new task - to save the farming center that supplies our valiant organization with food. No question, four homeless people said “yes” and took it up. And then a new voice asks to save the water station. No question, answered the four homeless people... yeah, they ran away. Only one thing can be saved. Okay, it happens. We save some while listening on the radio as others are being finished off. The move is very strong, and in a different situation I would only be happy for the writers.
In general, having done our dirty work, we return to base. Full of heavily armed people. This means that we have two centers under attack - supplying the base with food and water, respectively. In the desert. To defend them, as logic dictates, it is necessary to the last ranger... But there is no one to send except four homeless people. After that I closed the game and deleted it. The disadvantages of combat, when in almost any size location enemies reach the group in a couple of moves at most, with a turn-based system, while always trying to kill the sniper, after the twists of the scriptwriters, for me they look like minor shortcomings.
