Old Blood is not even close to the standards of New Order. Very disappointed and expected a lot more, but first things first:
1) Extremely dull missions, devoid of drive and dynamics New Order.
The first reason for this is the microscopic locations in which we spend most of our time spinning around: go there, come back, turn the lever, come back, go left, come back, go right, come back, walk a little forward and everything starts again . At the same time, New Order amazed with its scope and enormous levels.
The second reason is the gameplay itself. The authors of Old Blood are just stalling for time. In itself, the DLC is very short, but by forcing the player to crawl, climb and grind crowds of enemies, the passage stretches out to 5 hours. Crowds of enemies are a different matter; dozens of them are killed right under your feet. I understand that someone might not have had enough meat in New Order, but the developers made it in the “best” canons of Modern Warfare 2 - in some scenes, enemies are killed every 2 seconds for 3- 4 carcasses and they hit from all sides, you have to shoot them from afar one by one, which takes a lot of time.
2) I can’t help but note the game balance - they give much less armor and health than in New Order. Stupid Idiot is such an Idiot - you can calmly take down 3-4 enemies with a frontal attack from a pistol, in a narrow corridor (!), without getting a single scratch - they simply won’t hit you while you unload clip after clip. Or you can die in 2 seconds from an attack aircraft that goes into the side.
3) Separately, I want to “praise” the pipe - in Old Blood it’s such a dull substitute for a lasercraft, the only thing more universal than it is the mount (but at least it’s needed once every two hours), but here every five You can't go without a trumpet for minutes. With a pipe we climb, with a pipe we kill, a pipe replaces a woman, and so on.
4) The stealth mode is infuriating, especially when it comes to levels with super soldiers (they accompany us throughout the game - whose idea is this anyway?!), but at the very beginning of the game it is very difficult to fight against them with a pipe in your hands, I barely got through the first chapter.
Overall, Old Blood feels like a two-buck add-on rather than a full-fledged game, and my rating for it is 6 out of 10 points.
