Valve has decided to reconsider its approach to updates for the hero shooter Deadlock. Let us recall that the project is still in the early stages of development, despite the active online.
As reported by Valve community manager Yoshi on the official game server, the change in the update schedule «help improve our development process». According to him, the fixed schedule with the release of patches every two weeks did not allow for the correct introduction of changes. In addition, some updates simply did not have time to take root by the release of new edits.
Yoshi promised that despite the increase in deadlines, future patches will be quite voluminous. The changes also do not concern urgent updates — we are talking only about those changes that were scheduled to be released every two weeks.
In the meantime, there is no information about the release date of Deadlock yet. Access to the game is still only available by invitation, and the excitement around the shooter is gradually dying down — judging by SteamDB, the daily online is now about 17 thousand players. However, this did not stop Polygon from including the yet-to-be-released game in its list of the best projects of 2024.
