NetherRealm Studios' Creative Director Ed Boon took to his social media page on X to reveal the total sales of the fighting game Mortal Kombat 1, which was released on September 19, 2023, for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.

According to him, Mortal Kombat 1 has already surpassed 5 million copies sold.

With over 5 million games sold, seeing Mortal Kombat 1 still in the top 15 most played Playstation 5 games makes us very grateful to Mortal Kombat fans. Thanks for continuing to support NetherRealm Studios games!

As a reminder, Mortal Kombat 1 recently added a new DLC fighter, Conan the Barbarian. In the future, the game plans to introduce the T-1000 from the action movie Terminator 2: Judgment Day.
