In a recent press release, Electronic Arts announced that it has revised its revenue forecasts for the current fiscal year. This decision is linked to the underwhelming sales of Dragon Age: The Veilguard and EA Sports FC 25, which did not meet the publisher's expectations.
During the quarter, Dragon Age: The Veilguard attracted 1.5 million users, which is 50% less than EA's forecast of 3 million gamers. However, the company clarifies that 1.5 million does not represent total game sales, as some players might have accessed Dragon Age: The Veilguard through the EA Play Pro subscription.
EA now expects net revenue for the third quarter to be $1.883 billion (previously estimated at $1.875–2.025 billion).
Dragon Age: The Veilguard was released on October 31, 2024, for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. On Steam, the game received 70% positive reviews. It's worth noting that the game director, Corinne Busche, recently announced her departure from the project.
