A massive update has been released for Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor, introducing a new biome, mechanics, achievements, and changes to weapon stats and artifacts. In this guide, we'll cover all the important details you might encounter when launching the game.
The game has added a fourth biome, characterized by large deposits of minerals and rocks that block movement. You'll need digging speed enhancements, but here you can safely fend off hordes of enemies by drilling a long tunnel. In such conditions, you can try new builds, and additional gold and nitra speed up weapon upgrades. In one run, we managed to collect 600 units of such resources.
New fast monsters, Q'ronar Younglings, have been introduced, which break rocks upon collision. The elite version of these creatures moves to the end of the location, drilling paths.
Unstable stones have been added, which, when destroyed, cause a row of stalactites to collapse in front of them. You can kill the bugs chasing you if you break the stone at the right angle.
Three new achievements have been added, completing which you can obtain powerful artifacts:
Requirements for unlocking new locations have been changed, due to the addition of the fourth biome, and the requirements for biome tasks have been slightly adjusted. For example, to complete level 4 in the Magma Caves, you now need to collect 275 units of nitra, instead of 300.
Basic weapons can now be upgraded to level 21 right away. Additionally, most weapons have received an increase in starting damage and attack speed. The M1000 Classic, Heavy Autocannon, and Seismic Repulsor have been nerfed, but they remain strong and useful. If you're unsure about what to choose and upgrade, you can check out our separate guide.
Artifacts like the Pay2Win Console, Clipboard of Grudges, and both the Ice and Fire Belt-Shields have been buffed. They were already useful, but now they deal even more damage and provide additional experience.
For example, a problem was fixed where stone bugs would gain more health if monsters became stronger in the previous stage. Also, many other bugs and issues have been addressed.
The font has been edited to look more organic and not distract from the main gameplay. Now, the text looks appropriate, rather than like a poorly made mod with amateur translation.
