The first expansion for Alan Wake 2 is titled Night Springs. It contains three different episodes, styled like TV show episodes. The walkthrough won't take much of your time, and there are no secrets in the DLC. However, even here, the developers have prepared a couple of tasks where you might get stuck. Read our walkthrough to enjoy new stories from the crazy world of the horror writer.

Episode 1: Devoted Fan

Start playing as a waitress who is a big fan of Alan Wake's work. You will find yourself in a familiar diner. Go to the hall where the guests are. You need to serve the visitors.

Take the coffee pot from the central counter. Pour coffee for everyone who wants it and talk to the black female visitor. Put down the coffee pot and clear the plates from the tables. One of the guests will ask for advice about a bad date. Talk to him, choosing responses at your discretion.

Take all the plates to the dirty dishes window. One of the visitors will ask for a book recommendation. The heroine will immediately think of Alan's novel. Go to the corridor where you started playing and turn into the first door on the right. At the end of the room, there is a table with a fish on the wall. You can read the notes on the walls there — this does not affect anything.

As soon as you examine the novel, the fish will come to life and speak in the writer's voice. He needs our help. Go to the back room located behind the place where you left the dirty dishes. In the room, there is a weapon. Take the rifle and shotgun.

Exit the diner and go right to the end. Interact with the door to leave the area.

Move forward and talk to Alan's evil twin. Immediately after the dialogue, a long action scene will begin.

Kill all the attackers. This will be easy. The waitress has a lot of ammo and a multi-shot shotgun. You won't need to save ammo. There are also many resource boxes in the location. You don't need to use the flashlight here either. After the victory, inspect the area and collect the remaining ammo in the boxes. To the right of where the twin was standing, a hole in the fence will appear. A fiery trail left by a motorcycle leads into the forest.

When you reach the bridge, you will see new enemies. After the bridge, there is a cabin with ammo on the left. At the fork, turn left. At the next fork, turn right to find a book on a stump. Again, this does not affect progress, and there are no secrets in the DLC.

When you reach the motorcycle, enter the cabin and go up to the second floor. The twin won't be there, so go downstairs and go through the nearest door to the beach. Talk to the twin near the water and kill all the attackers.

Return to the house and follow the fiery motorcycle tracks. Eventually, you will return to the forest and see a deer. Talk to it. Follow the motorcycle tracks to the mansion.

Fight the twin. He launches explosive hearts that need to be shot before they touch the heroine, and also sends waves of hearts that you need to dodge. Both attacks are quite painful, so avoid unnecessary mistakes. In between, attack the twin himself. Towards the end of the fight, the boss will start transforming into a wolf. He attacks like a regular beast from the main game. After the victory, talk to the defeated twin and go to the mansion.

Clear the floors and go up. Here you will encounter several strong enemies. They are larger than the others. You have already been in the mansion in the main game and should know where to go. On the top floor, turn left to find Alan himself.

Watch the cutscene, and the episode will be completed.

Episode 2: Polaris

You play as the heroine from Control and find yourself near the coffee park from the main game.

Move forward, but the gates will be locked. To the right, there's a panel where you need to enter a code. You can find it by inspecting the booth to the left of the gate. Code 238. A bit further to the left is a coffee bar. It also requires a code, but for now, just pass by. Turn right. A ghost will show you the way to the green-lit area — the gazebo.

Talk to the sheriff and take the gun with a flashlight. The ghost will show the way. When you reach the place, remove the veil of darkness with light. Defeat three shadows.

Approach the intercom of the warehouse and talk. The door requires a password, but none of the options fit. Return to the gazebo with the sheriff and move a bit forward to the area with the TV and chairs. Interact with the VCR and find out that the tape is missing. Talk to the sheriff again. He will say that he hid the tape on the Ferris wheel in the 4th cabin.

The wheel towers over the entire park, so it's easy to spot. As you progress, you will also find many resource boxes. Some of them have special locks where you need to remember the glowing buttons and repeat the sequence.

Near the wheel, defeat a couple of shadows and climb to the attraction. Start the wheel and wait until the 4th cabin is at the bottom. Stop the attraction and take the tape. Go down to the viewing area and start the recording. The word you were looking for is «truth».

Return to the intercom. Additional confirmation is required. For this, you need to find out the coffee roasting temperature. To do this, return to the coffee bar. Now there are hints there. Code 487.

Return to the intercom and state the number. Now you need to try the coffee. Go to the tasting hall next to the Ferris wheel. After tasting the coffee, return to the intercom. On the way, talk to the sheriff near the warehouse. Tell the intercom that you tried the coffee and surrender your weapon, then go inside.

In the warehouse, there are large coffee thermoses walking around. If they see you, it's instant death, so hide behind the sacks and go immediately to the right, then right again. On the table is a box with a key.

Return to the center of the warehouse and move a bit forward — there is a door on the right. Go inside and talk to the sheriff. Behind him is a hatch to the basement. Go down and move forward.

Watch the cutscene, and the episode is completed.

Episode 3: Time Breaker

You play as actor Shawn Ashmore. Talk to Sam Lake, then head to the lounge.

Go left from the stage, then right to the end of the corridor. Enter the dressing room, examine the script, then your body. The heroine from Control will appear. After the dialogue, you will wake up in the forest.

Walk along the planks through the thicket until you hear voices. Climb the steps to the cabins and go inside. Examine the room. You will immediately notice the TV. You need an energy charge to set up the portal. Exit the trailer and go down the steps, then go left.

Go to the stream and a little to the left across it. You will see a large glowing polyhedron floating in the sky. Charge the device with it and return. Defeat a shadow near your corpse and reach the trailer. Charge the TV and move to another dimension.

You are in a hotel room. Behind you is a dresser with ammo. In the hall, defeat the shadow and move forward. In front of you are three directions with different clock faces above: 12:00, 15:00, and 18:00.

At the beginning of the hall, there is a hint. To the left of where you entered, examine the three clock faces with different times. You need the directions of the hands, not the specific numbers. The sequence is straight, right, left. You will reach the energy source. Return to the TV in the hall with the clock face at 12:00. There will be many shadows, so it's best to use grenades.

When you move through the TV, you will enter the comic book world. Here you only need to read. After this stage, Shawn will become a character in a 2D game. Move to the right and defeat several waves of your clones, after which you can recharge the device and move again. Just press one button, the hero will automatically highlight the shadows and then shoot.

In the new world, go towards the light. In front of the polyhedron, defeat several shadows, charge the device, and move forward to the TV. Defeat several shadows and move.

This stage of the game is in text form, where you will simply need to choose answers. Click «gather yourself» and again «gather yourself». Then there will be no choice for a while. Eventually, two options will appear. The first is to think about Mr. Door, the second is to think about the red-haired girl.

As we understand, the outcome will be the same in any case, so think about the red-haired girl, and then read the story development. The choices there will not have significant importance. When you receive the pendant with the spiral, the game will automatically suggest thinking about Mr. Door. After this, watch the peculiar cutscene, and the episode will end.
