Is this Game Trying to Kill Me? is an exciting blend of horror and puzzle with a first-person perspective. Trapped in a secluded cabin hidden in the shadow of a dense forest, the protagonist meets its strange owner, who offers to participate in a dangerous computer game. It turns out to be the only way to gain freedom. In this guide, we will explain how to solve the puzzles and get all available endings.

Beginning of the Game

Tip: Events in the cabin are closely related to what happens in the virtual game. For example, if writings appear on the walls, they will help you solve the puzzle inside the game. Use the hints to correctly activate the levers and move forward.

After the dialogue with the Wizard, approach the computer and interact with it to start the game within the game. When you find yourself in the first room full of puzzles, approach the pedestal with the red hand and press the E button.

Continuing down the corridors, you will come across a chest. Opening it will not only do so in the game but also in real life. Inside is a puzzle piece. Place the puzzle in the room as shown in the screenshot.

Return to the computer, run forward, and take the yellow sphere from the pedestal. Then return to the main room and use the arrows on the sides to move the bridge to the second yellow sphere.

In the room on the left, interact with the two creatures. After that, press the tiles in the order shown in the images.

Go through the open door, where you will again find stands to interact with. To complete the task in the correct sequence, you need to alternately change the images on the flags in the left corner of the room. Step away from the computer and pay attention to the board next to the table — it will tell you which image to choose in the game.

Collect the yellow spheres, then activate the lever next to the door and enter the room.

Guess Where the Joker Is

If you decided to participate in the game, all you need to do is carefully look at the board in the cabin to find out where the Joker is hiding. The location of the card may be different for each player, but in our case, it was always on the left.

Keep moving forward until you encounter the ice monster.

How to Restore the Video Signal

After you defeat the ice monster, a video glitch will occur, halting your progress in the game. The Wizard will ask you to go down to the basement to restore the signal and fix the malfunction. To do this, you will need to solve several puzzles.

In the basement, you will find four valves, two of which control the pipes. They are connected to the white lines on the screen. Turn the valves so that the white lines disappear, and only then will the door open.

In the room on the right, you will face another puzzle. To proceed, you need to press the buttons in the correct sequence. The difficulty lies in the lack of color coding, so follow this order:

  1. Blue — fourth button.
  2. White — first button.
  3. Black — fifth button.
  4. Blue — fourth button.
  5. Yellow — second button.

If you perform all actions correctly, three canisters will fall from the ceiling behind you. Place them in a special compartment in the corner of the room, then return to the computer.

How to Defeat the Pirate

In the next room, you will see a bridge with a skeleton in pirate clothing standing on it. Interact with him, then go to the room on the left. There is a weapon shop, but you need to buy a fishing rod to catch 20 fish. The fishing rod costs 10 coins. To earn coins, go to the far right room and loot the big pile of bones on the floor.

Buy the fishing rod and interact with the bench to start fishing. With each attempt, you can catch up to 9 fish. Once you manage to catch 20 fish, return to the shop and place them in the green box in the corner.

Collect all available rubies and buy a key from the same merchant for 5000 coins. Enter the opened room and place the tiles with the energy symbol in the order shown in the screenshot below. After doing this, go to the kitchen.

Approach the green circular hatch in the wall and interact with it. A hand will appear from the hole, demanding three golden jugs:

  1. The first jug is on the kitchen table.
  2. The second jug is on the ceiling, near the wooden plank.
  3. The third jug is on the chair, next to the vending machine.

Buy a screwdriver with the earned money and unscrew the wooden plank to the right of the hand. Under it, you will find an image of a fish with numbers below. Set the numbers in the following order: 10000.

Now each fish caught in the mini-game will bring 10,000 coins instead of 10. To defeat the pirate skeleton, you will need a magic sword, which costs 50,000 coins in the shop. Just sell 5 more fish, and you will be able to buy the sword. If you want to buy the last item near the hand, catch 7 fish.

With the sword, return to the skeleton and start the battle. Dodge obstacles and press the button with the skeleton's vulnerability symbol (poison) as soon as it appears.

Swamp

After you defeat the pirate skeleton, the ground beneath you will collapse, and the character will fall down. Dodge the sharp spikes, and soon you will return to your cabin. Approach the computer to transfer to the swamp location.

Replace the Carpet Texture

As soon as you defeat the slime, the carpet texture will disappear. Soon, the wizard will reappear and ask you to go down to the basement to replace it.

In the basement, you will need five fuses. One of them is already installed in the block, the second can be found on the shelf next to the stairs. The remaining three are located at the coordinates indicated on the wall. Use the switch on the left to input them.

After solving the puzzle, you will find yourself in a room with three different carpet textures. You can choose any of them — it doesn't matter. Then return and interact with the hole at the back of the computer.

How to Catch the Leprechaun

Light the torches shown in the photo below and follow to the right, moving across the lily pads.

  1. In the first room with frogs, light the green and red torches, then interact with the lever and continue moving straight.
  2. In the second room, light all the torches except the yellow one, and activate the lever again.
  3. In the third room, activate two green, two blue, and two yellow torches. Pull the lever, go to the next room, and carefully examine the statue with the scales.

Get up from the chair and head to the room on the right. Place three stones on the scales and return to the computer. Open the chest on the left, then go back to the room with the scales and arrange the cubes as shown in the photo.

This will open a new path leading to the Leprechaun. After the conversation, he will hide — you will need to find him. The Leprechaun is near the mushroom on the left.

Once you find him, the creature will teleport to the cabin. It has the ability to transform into ordinary objects. The first place you will find him is the chair in the kitchen.

Then the creature will transform into a box and will be on the bench next to the basement door.

Next, the Leprechaun will become a painting by the treasury door.

Then he will turn into a frying pan, hanging on the wall next to the window in front of the computer.

And finally, he will become a woven basket, lying on the sofa in the room with the pentagram. Return to the computer and talk to him.

How to Revive the Boar

After you defeat the Leprechaun, another room will open in the cabin. To complete the task, you need to revive the boar, which is located in the new area. For this, you will need:

  • Blood
  • Heart
  • Soul
  • Runes
  • Power

To obtain blood, go to the corner of the room and take the empty vessel behind the glass panel. Break the glass by throwing a stone at it. Then head to the kitchen and turn on the sink. Blood will flow from the faucet, and you can fill the vessel.

To obtain heart, carefully study the blueprint and find the rooms in the PC game where the corresponding tile patterns are present. A number will be indicated on the green tile.

On the right side of the same room, there is a panel where you need to enter the code — 2536. Inside, you will find fertilizers. Take them and use them for the pot with the plant in the kitchen. Thanks to this, a heart will grow from the plant, which you can use.

To obtain soul, return to the computer and go up to the topmost room. Interact with the green tomb, after which the ground beneath you will start to crack. Use the floor tiles to cover the emerging cracks. Once all the cracks are sealed, the boar's soul will automatically be yours.

Obtaining runes is quite simple — enter the room on the left. Here you will encounter tiles that need to be pressed in the correct order. To learn this order, carefully watch the eyes of the owl in the corner of the room.

Take the scroll and head to the room on the right. Place the scroll on the green shelf. Then return to the room with the boar to examine it. Interact with the corresponding symbols on the floor and take the runes.

The last step is to restore power. Go to the room on the right in the PC game. Here you will see yellow pipes leading to the generator. Get up from the chair and examine the three valves in the new location. Turn them according to their positions in the game. For convenience, use the TV next to the valves so you don't have to return to the computer each time.

After obtaining all the necessary items, pull the lever next to the head, and the task will be completed.

How to Defeat the Wizard

Return to the computer and go through the room with three symbols. Remember the symbols and their corresponding colors — you will need them during the battle with the Wizard:

  • Blue flame
  • Purple snowflake
  • White drop

Continue moving straight until the battle begins. Avoid obstacles until the buttons appear. First, press the one that corresponds to the color of the flame.

Attack him three more times to make him leave the game. The final part of the boss fight will take place in the cabin. Continue dodging his attacks. Occasionally, the Wizard will be stunned — at this moment, quickly run to one of the indicated places and use your attack:

  • In the boar's room, next to the valves
  • In the room with the computer, above the red chest
  • In the room with the pentagram, above the blue chest
  • In the kitchen, next to the vending machine
  • In the corridor, next to the basement door.

After you land four hits, the Wizard will be defeated.

Bad Ending

Return to the computer and enter the treasury. Get up from the chair and go into another newly opened room. It will turn out that everything was a lie — there is no treasure, and the hero will become just a part of the video game.

Good Ending

Return to the computer and enter the treasury. After getting up from the computer, you will need to interact with the burning TVs in these locations:

  • In the kitchen, next to the sink
  • In the room with the pentagram, above the cauldron
  • In the boar's room, next to the valves

After finding all the TVs, you will wake up in a cave. Go straight, talk to the unknown creature, and open the door. You will need to interact with the symbols on the skin of a giant snake. Be careful and try not to get caught in its sight, as it will instantly spew venom at the protagonist upon detection.

After defeating the creature, the exit from the cave will be opened, and you will be able to escape.
