The writers of Deadpool and Wolverine have revealed how the script for the blockbuster was originally conceived. It turns out that one of the episodes was supposed to feature a character whose return many fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe were hoping for. Beware, spoilers!
Tony Stark, played by Robert Downey Jr., could have met Deadpool at the beginning of the film, when the hero was interviewing for the Avengers team. As Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese admitted in an interview with IndieWire, this scene was written even before attempts to invite the actor to the set. However, Robert Downey Jr. was already in talks for the role of Doctor Doom, so he abandoned this idea, although he got acquainted with the draft.
Among other drafts of the script, there was another funny episode. In it, Deadpool was supposed to meet the Avengers, trying to recruit them into their team. Of course, the chatty mercenary was rejected, after which he unleashed a ton of curses on each of the superheroes in his own style.
The writers also wanted to get a cameo from Daredevil played by Ben Affleck in the film, but this idea remained in the drafts.
However, one of the stars of the DC cinematic universe did appear in the film. The actor recently shared a still of himself from Deadpool and Wolverine.
