Warner Bros. is officially working on a new «Lord of the Rings» film, reports Variety. The premiere is set for 2026.
The project is in the early stages of development, but it is already known that it will be a new story, not told in the previous films. Director of the original trilogy, Peter Jackson, and screenwriters Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens will serve as producers of the film.

Meanwhile, Amazon is preparing to release the second season of the «Lord of the Rings» series subtitled «The Rings of Power». Its release date is yet unknown.
