At this year’s CES in Las Vegas, Intel introduced groundbreaking modular devices under the AI8A brand, developed in partnership with Taiwan-based Quanta. The spotlight was on two key concepts: modular laptops and pocket PCs, powered by Intel Lunar Lake processors.
The pocket PC features a futuristic metallic design and a 7-inch Full HD display. One of its standout features is the ability to swap screens with varying specifications and sizes, connected through three independent ports. This design highlights Intel’s focus on customization and adaptability in personal devices.
The modular laptop, built around the Compute Card concept, takes flexibility to the next level. It incorporates a detachable compute module that can be repurposed for portable gaming consoles or even desktop setups. Additional features include a motorized hinge for automatic lid opening, a wireless charging pad beneath the touchpad, and an advanced eye-tracking system.
While these devices remain conceptual and are not yet slated for mass production, they underline Intel’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in computing hardware. CES 2025 has once again demonstrated that Intel is paving the way for a future where modularity and adaptability are at the forefront of technology innovation.
