Visionary American director and screenwriter David Lynch has passed away at the age of 79. He had been suffering from lung issues in recent months, reportedly stemming from years of smoking.
Lynch directed such iconic films as Twin Peaks, Mulholland Drive, Lost Highway, and Dune. His last directorial work was the experimental drama Inland Empire. The acclaimed director was the recipient of numerous awards, including the César Award, the Palme d'Or, and a Saturn Award. In 2019, he received an honorary Academy Award for his contributions to cinema.
