Games Beholder All reviews Review from DonSancho

Wake up, citizen! A new day has come! Once again the plan will be exceeded, again the newspapers will write about military successes at the front, again law enforcement officers will load another enemy of the people into a car. By the way, organizing the latter is your task. You haven't forgotten about your responsibilities, have you?

So. In a dilapidated house at Ul. A new family has settled in Kruszwice No. 6. Or rather, they were settled. Chita Steinov and her two children now live on the ground floor, without attracting much attention from the neighbors. The latter, on the contrary, earned the attention of Karl Stein, a government official who had proven himself well in his previous job. His direct responsibilities include spying on the residents of the house, collecting dossiers, or rather compromising evidence, on each of them and handing over to the authorities anyone who violates any of the approximately six thousand prohibitions. In the heart of the best state in the world (you read newspapers, right?) a poisonous infection of freethinking and dissent has appeared. The task of the secret observer is to eradicate this evil by surveillance, denunciations and, if necessary, falsification of crimes. What can you do - that's the job.

From the very first day in his new place, Karl, under your leadership, will have to watch day and night every step of all the inhabitants of the house entrusted to him. Fortunately, for this purpose, hidden cameras are installed in all apartments, which greatly facilitate the task. Such a measure may confuse someone, but if a citizen does not do anything reprehensible, then what should he hide? Having identified the violator, the loyal servant must immediately report to the Ministry of Law and Order, and after a few minutes the offender is thrown into the back of an official car. At first glance, the task does not seem so difficult, but what to do if someone close to you broke the law? What to do when the threat of arrest hangs over the person you really need? What if the law demands that an already unfortunate and possibly innocent person be punished? Such dilemmas will appear all the time.

There are a great many options for the development of events, as well as opportunities to change your own destiny and the destiny of the entire state. There is no clear division into black and white, and each resident has both positive traits and his own dark secrets. By revealing them, you can be more convincing in your demands, but even old Karl himself may have a snout in his mouth, which means he will never be completely safe.

How will the story of the inhabitants of the old house and all the “cogs of the system” huddling in it change? It's up to you to decide. But remember: you are an official, not a person, and any, even the most noble initiative, is punishable.
