Games Dark Souls: Prepare To Die Edition All reviews Review from Jackie

A great game to say the least.

It was From Software who realized exactly what kind of challenge for players should be. These great people realized that going through trials, the opportunity to die from the weakest enemy or a clever trap can give us emotions equivalent to those we received from playing “battle toads”. The difficulty never feels impossible, and death is always the player's fault, and upon respawning he knows how to avoid it.

Oh well. I talked about hardcore. We can talk about the rest.

The game is damn beautiful. And no, not graphically. The design of every location, every mob is something magnificent. Add to this the melancholic orchestral music from the Japanese and a gloomy world, the history of which will only be heard and seen by those who are attentive, and we get a magnificent world. Gloomy, empty, but with great mythology. And plunging into this world, I want to study it as much as possible. It took me 200 hours of pain and wandering, and I don’t regret the time I spent.

And finally, one of the main advantages of the game: a realistic combat system. The possession of most real-life swords is based on real blows and does not look very fantastic. Of course, this does not mean that the most truthful battles in the game are on par with real ones, but at least they do not vulgarize fencing and for this I bow to the developer.

9.5 only because the optimization was mediocre, but I don’t see the point in criticizing the game more than usual because of this. Moreover, all the fixes for the game have already been there for a long time.

9.5
