What is Dota? Everyone should know this like the multiplication table. But if anything, this is an old mod for the well-known War Craft 3, in which players fight in 5 on 5 teams, playing as heroes of the original game, and has achieved incredible popularity among gamers. And it was with her that the dawn of the MOBA genre began.
A little background. I became acquainted with this modification back in my school years, when it became harder to sit through lessons every day. And so my classmates and I got ready and went to the nearest CC (computer center). I can’t say that I liked the game, but playing in the same room with friends and strangers turned out to be incredibly interesting. So I spent a year or two in the game. Then everything got worse and worse. And after Valve intervened, the game completely lost its charm.
What has changed since then? Almost nothing, with the exception of some moments that discouraged me from continuing to play.
Valve smelled the money and took the game for themselves, putting it out as a separate game. She ruined the game with appearances (costumes for characters), the purpose of which is simply to extract more money from you.
There have been no changes to the gameplay and there will not be any. The graphics were tweaked and the game was transferred to a new engine. All. But what else do players need? They always played like that.
But what makes me hate the game is the community (players who play this game). It feels like the players' IQ drops to zero when they enter the game. The game turns into an endless fight, namely: an endless stream of insults from both the players of their team and the enemy team; Communication culture? No, I haven't heard. I want and will swear at every opportunity; The main rule: you always play poorly. You have to play as your “teammate” says. Nothing else; Often, players who are not satisfied with their results begin to interfere with the game - they allow themselves to be killed by enemy players, thereby increasing their level and amount of gold. They do not come to the aid of their allies. Or they are completely afk (the game is on, but the person just left the table, minding his own business). For what? To prevent another player from entering; Of course, we don’t forget about reports (complaints about players). “Masters” from 3 “A” class, not satisfied with the play of their allies, simply bombard them with reports, thereby lowering the player’s rating and sending him to play in rooms with a low rating. And the “people” there are even worse. Is Dota a team game? No. Everyone here plays on their own. The exception is adequate players, who are less common than unicorns.
And unfortunately, this always happens, and the list itself can be continued endlessly.
What do we have in the end?
Pros:
1) The same gameplay that everyone loves so much.
2) Updated graphics, giving a breath of fresh air to long-time fans.
3) Frequent updates (both for the better and for the worse).
4) Quite easy for a beginner to get the hang of, thanks to the tips in the store. And you can come up with a strategy as the game progresses. Everything is intuitive and clear.
5) New characters are being added.
Cons:
1) A completely rotten and disgusting community, because of which the desire to play completely disappears.
2) A useless waste of money on clothes for characters (but this is more of a nitpick, because you don’t have to buy it).
3) Specifically for me: playing is monotonous and boring.
4) Matches last from 20 minutes to an hour, or even more. So you won’t be able to play quickly and relax.
5) There is not even a hint of team play if you play without friends.
I don’t advise anyone to play “this”, and if you’re just thinking about it, forget it right away. Whether you listen to me or not is up to you.
