Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2 — the player controls an agile claw-shaped figure that can move and shoot independently in any direction. The goal of the game is to score points by destroying the various enemy forms that appear on the playing field, contact with any enemy results in death and loss of life. Bombs destroy all enemies on the playing field, but do not earn points.
Crucial to effective play is the score multiplier, which increases as the player collects "gems", small green objects dropped by enemies when destroyed. The number of points scored for destroying an enemy depends on the multiplier, which can reach thousands. There are 6 different game modes available.
