Yes, many good games can hook you with interesting mechanics, a well-developed world, and a plot, but when you stand in the shadow of a giant, the chances of this happening are minimal.
The third part is not terrible, although at the very beginning it turned out to be extremely crude. It is quite playable and even interesting. But there is no that Gothic spirit here. Perhaps it was too spread out over huge, half-empty territories or not fully implemented by numerous patches, but when playing the third part, you don’t feel that this is a continuation.
A game where you take control of a demon and dragon slayer who may die in the first battle with ordinary orcs? Orcs who began to behave like a cross between a gopnik and a huckster? Same type of quests and tasks? It's difficult to single out just one thing. It’s just that the game turned out to be “not the same” continuation that was so expected.

Третья часть не ужасна, хотя и в самом начале вышла крайне сырой. Она вполне играбельна и даже интересна. Но тут нет того духа готики. Возможно, он был слишком сильно размазан по огромным полупустым территориям или не до конца реализован многочисленными патчами, но, играя в третью часть, ты не чувствуешь, что это продолжение.
Игра, где предлагают взять под управление убийцу демонов и драконов, который может погибнуть в первом же боя с обычными орками? Орки, которые стали вести себя, как помесь гопника с торгашом? Однотипные квесты и задания? Сложно выделить что-то одно. Просто, игра оказалась "не тем самым" продолжением, которого так ждали.
