A modder has released a working Pancake Base mod for Alyx. What is characteristic is that this modification does not imitate the levitating hands of the main character in the air, but replaces them with the usual gloves of Gordon Freeman. Now you can play a VR game like a classic shooter.
Although on the screen you will see Gordon's hands in his orange suit, of course, in the story you will hear Alix.
Goutrial used models and animations from the original Half-Life 2 and its episodes, slightly adjusting them. The mod is currently missing some effects and sometimes has some visual artifacts, but it really works.
Of course, the locations of Half-Life: Alyx are not designed for the classic dynamic gameplay of the series, so with the proper experience in shooters, local shootouts with the mod will not be difficult.
