Games inFamous All reviews Review from Wolfsangel

InFamous tries to play on two words at once in its name. It turns out to be about the same as the division in the game into “good” and “evil” - not bad (I’ll play with words too).

The choice of “light” or “red” does not bring much difference or moral dilemmas. However, it is an excellent addition to the comic-book atmosphere of the game, which turned out to be a great success. At that time, InFamous beat all competitors even with specialized education. The game excels both in its script (albeit in some places simple and naive) and in its perfectly calibrated complexity. Yes, the hero is quite mortal and will not stand for long under a barrage of bullets. Electricity is not available everywhere. The “charge” on the special ability wears off very quickly.

Real platforming is also good, where you need to jump carefully, despite the hero sticking to the walls. Unlike Assassin's Creed, jumping in InFamous can be nerve-wracking. And not only from the complexity, but also, nevertheless, from the crookedness of adhesion and animation.

But about animation we need to throw more air in the ointment. If the protagonist himself moves quite well, then all other characters and NPCs are below average. This is especially noticeable in the videos on the engine. The game tries to replace them with cool, stylish comic book inserts. It's a pity that not always.

Another “spoons” are side tasks that provide useful bonuses, but suffer from monotony. Like the same gray city with just a couple of interesting locations. Disadvantages of an open world.

But even after 5 years, InFamous is worth playing, considering that it remains one of the best comic games.
