For L.A.Noire, the developers recreated part of the city of Los Angeles in the late 40s. The city is really huge and beautiful, however, during the story missions we will not see even a third of its beauty, but there is a free mode in which you can explore the real sights of Los Angeles, collect films and badges for achievements, or accept calls from the dispatcher and investigate street crimes.
The plot here is exciting, with a couple of unexpected twists and two intersecting storylines. A leisurely passage will take 20-25 hours. Unfortunately, the last of the five parts of the plot turned out to be a little boring, but the last task is worth it.
The gameplay may seem monotonous to some: a trip to the crime scene, inspection, pursuit/next location. But the plot and atmosphere overcome this minus.
The graphics are not great for 2011, and the low-quality port from consoles only worsens them. But still the picture is not bad and not repulsive. But the most important feature is the special facial animation technology: the characters’ faces convey a huge range of emotions and look like real ones, which enhances immersion in the game.
Overall, the game turned out to be excellent - the plot and atmosphere cover all the negatives.
