Marvel's Spider-Man is an arcade action game with a third-person view in the Spider-Man game series. The story will show the changes in a person after he puts on the mask and becomes a superhero. The developers from Insomniac were inspired by Marvel comics about this character, but the game is not related to the events of the cinematic universe and forms its own game universe, alongside The Avengers Project and Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series.

In terms of graphics, Spider-Man meets contemporary standards, offering high-quality models, an excellent animation system for Spider-Man and his acrobatic tricks, while on PS4 Pro the game looks slightly better than on PS4.

Manhattan is the foundation of the game world in Marvel's Spider-Man. It is filled not only with many high-rises and skyscrapers but also with landmarks like Central Park, the Wakandan Embassy, Avengers Tower, bridges, and more.

Areas available for exploration include Harlem, Upper West Side and East Side, Hell's Kitchen, Midtown, Greenwich, Chinatown, and the Financial District.

Everything is designed so that Spider-Man has plenty of space to swing between skyscrapers at height and parkour. You can climb all buildings and peek inside some of them, and there is also a subway for quick travel. The world is divided into 9 districts, each with towers that unlock new missions, events, and locations, similar to Far Cry.

There are several heroes in Marvel's Spider-Man. Peter Parker is an ordinary student who got a part-time job at a scientific institute. Spider bit Parker at the age of 15, and at the time of the game's events, he is 23 and will experience all the typical problems of this age: debts, starting a career, lack of time and money.

Things are much better for his alter ego, Spider-Man. He is not a rookie but an experienced superhero who has saved New York many times, a celebrity with whom people want to take selfies. The developers will also let you play as Mary Jane, Spider-Man's girlfriend.

As for the villains, Spider-Man faces many notorious scoundrels — Mr. Negative, Kingpin, Scorpion, Shocker, Rhino, and others.

Marvel's Spider-Man offers a completely original plot, covering the life of Peter Parker, Spider-Man, and his girlfriend Mary Jane. As support for the main character, Miles Morales, the first black Spider-Man, appears.

The plot is simple — Norman Osborn is re-elected as mayor of New York, with Martin Li also running for the position. To disrupt Osborn's campaign, Mr. Negative opens the city to criminals and madmen, who begin tearing New York apart.

Большая часть геймплея связана с боевой системой, Человек-Паук использует множество умений, чтобы остановить бандитов, и нет никаких ограничений на порядок их применения, скорее общий набор правил. Паучок прыгает между врагами, стреляет паутиной, использует гаджеты и элементы окружения, чтоб оглушить и связать всех противников.

Вместо длинных комбо с прожиманием нужных кнопок — быстрые и очень динамичные бои, вместо рукопашной — комбинации между ударами и способностями, такими как полет на паутине, прыжки и паркур, прилипание к стенам, удары в воздухе, паучье чутье и многое другое.

Можно, например, вытягивать врагов по одному в воздух, избивая их по ходу движения и подвешивая уже оглушенных. А при заполненной шкале адреналина герой проводит зрелищный завершающий удар. Геймплейная фишка Marvel's Spider-Man — это гаджеты, вроде бомбы, разбрызгивающей паутину на ближайших врагов, а также дрона, летающего над врагами и стреляющего паутиной.

Отдыхать от работы Человека-Паука Питер будет в своей лаборатории или дома, где нужно пораскинуть мозгами, чтобы сделать новый гаджет, выполнить очередную головоломку или поговорить с сюжетными персонажами.
