Marvel's Spider-Man is an arcade action game with a third-person view in the series about Spider-Man. The story will show the changes in a person after he puts on the mask and becomes a superhero. Marvel's Spider-Man is a single-player third-person action game in a vast open world, a PS4 exclusive about the adventures of Spider-Man in New York. The developers from Insomniac were inspired by Marvel comics about this character, but the game is not related to the events of the cinematic universe and creates its own game universe, alongside The Avengers Project and Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series.

In terms of graphics, Spider-Man meets the demands of the time, offering high-quality models, an excellent animation system for Spider-Man and his acrobatic tricks, while on PS4 Pro the game looks slightly better than on PS4.

Manhattan is the foundation of the game world of Marvel's Spider-Man. It is filled not only with numerous skyscrapers but also with landmarks — Central Park, the Wakandan Embassy, the Avengers Tower, bridges, and more.

Areas available for exploration include Harlem, the Upper West Side and East Side, Hell's Kitchen, Midtown, Greenwich, Chinatown, and the Financial District.

Everything is designed so that Spider-Man has plenty of space to swing between skyscrapers at height and perform parkour. You can climb all the buildings and peek inside some of them; there is also a subway that allows the hero to move quickly. The world is divided into 9 districts, and each has towers that unlock access to new missions, events, and locations, just like in Far Cry.

Marvel's Spider-Man offers a completely original story that covers the life of Peter Parker, Spider-Man, as well as his girlfriend Mary Jane. As a support for the main character, Miles Morales appears — the first black Spider-Man.

Most of the gameplay is related to the combat system; Spider-Man uses many skills to stop criminals, and there are no restrictions on the order of their use, just a general set of rules. Spider-Man jumps between enemies, shoots webs, uses gadgets and elements of the environment to stun and tie up all opponents.

Instead of long combos with pressing the right buttons — quick and very dynamic fights, instead of hand-to-hand combat — combinations of strikes and abilities, such as web-swinging, jumping, and parkour, wall sticking, aerial strikes, spider-sense, and much more.

For example, one can pull enemies into the air one by one, beating them as they move and suspending already stunned foes. When the adrenaline meter is full, the hero performs a spectacular finishing move. A gameplay feature of Marvel's Spider-Man is the gadgets, like a bomb that sprays web on nearby enemies, as well as a drone that flies over enemies and shoots webs.

To take a break from being Spider-Man, Peter will be in his lab or at home, where he needs to think to create a new gadget, solve another puzzle, or talk to story characters.
