Yes, I'm a MW fan. I read all the books on the topic, starting with Thurston's series.

I also played MW2. I played it again when the first Voodoo came out and something similar to 3D appeared. Then in MW2 Mercenaries, where life-like physics of homing missiles and a simple, but logical and consistent management system appeared.

Then in MW3 - a toy with drop-dead beauty and realism, where a robot with a broken leg fell and most likely ended up in trophies, where you could control the flight on jump jets, where you could normally lead a flight, where there was a variety of missions, different map modes, a normal system for customizing robots with different types of armor, engines and internal structures, radar modes, a logical and understandable heating/cooling scheme, the ability to sit down, etc. Semi-immersion or immersion in water reduced heating and accelerated cooling. It was possible to fire energy weapons from under the water, although guns and missiles were blocked, which is understandable in principle. In general, there was a lot more, enough for a page. I would still play it, but systems newer than Win 95/98, unfortunately, did not support it.

MW4 Vengeance has already become worse, nonsense and gags of the developers began, which, however, did not have a fatal effect on the atmosphere of the game.

And so, MW5 Mercenaries came out. Although, more like some kind of Mechwarrior Mercenaries Logistics Tycoon, IMHO. Basically, I liked it.

RTS, economic strategy, robot arcade shooter and political chess are combined in one bottle. However, complaints (main):

1. Why does everything take so long?

1.1. Okay, I’m not an expert on space flights and I don’t know. what and how things stand with this in the 31st century. But it is completely incomprehensible why the availability of orders for military services can only be found out for six months after flying across half the galaxy, with the full complement of the unit and all the equipment? Comstar, awww!

1.2. Repair times are insane. How to replace 6 single hits with 3 double ones in 26 days? Did you sharpen it with files and adjust it with needle files? I looked at the repair specification once. So, figuratively speaking, in the 31st century they don’t know how to tighten more than one screw at a time - all operations are strictly sequential and very drawn out. It will take even longer to return everything as it was to the robot from the “cold warehouse”.

Taking into account the cost of buying robots and weapons, my “guy” has been fighting for about 20 years of playing time. We need to check whether he can die of old age or not...

2. “Cold warehouse” - an interesting idea, the implementation let us down. I think it would be necessary: ​​

2.1. Add the ability to sell stripped robots without moving them to an active hangar.

2.2. Reduce the time required to reassemble weapons and equipment onto undamaged robots by 10 times.

3. Interface for controlling a flight in combat (the same as F1, F2, F3, F4)

3.1. Add the “Keep formation” and “Hold position” commands. More precisely, return it. They seemed to be there in previous episodes. Without them, Lansmates tend to crawl away like cockroaches or get into the thick of enemies and die, taking with them, for example, a heroic “atlas” for 30 lyams.

Well, not everything, but if at least the developers solve this, it will become much more enjoyable to play.

I repeat once again, based on the general denominator, I evaluate the game positively. Taking into account future improvements, of course :)

Поклон фанату ,который прочитал все книги вселенной! я только подростком несколько прочитал (крутых) , без инета тяжело найти новые в посёлке. Но ты описал правильно. Это игра для фанов жанра. Зачем они упростили геймплей — не понятно. Типо для вовлечения новеньких может
