Mirror's Edge (2008)

I finished it a long time ago and when I read that a new part would be released soon, I was as happy as a turkey). This means that I completed almost all of it, and only when it came to the mission with a sniper shot, I didn’t even know that you could shoot in this game. But it turns out you can) But not necessarily: you can run, jump, climb and hit all the guards in the face with hand-to-hand combat. And after I found out that you can shoot, everything became very simple.

What the game is about. You are a girl (very strong, fast and flexible) who can easily shoot from any weapon and can easily take down 8 armed men by simply kicking them. An uninteresting plot, a terrifying corridor, the absence of cut scenes as such (instead, inappropriate, comic-style drawings) - usually such characteristics bury games, but in the case of Mirror’s Edge this is not the case. All of the above-mentioned pains are more than paid for by the process itself: cross-country on roofs, amazing pirouettes, combinations of techniques and other delights of parkour. In this game you literally run from the starting line to the finish line. And there is no time to look at textures and models - speed and drive are important here. This is why the first person view suits the game so well.

I finished this game a long time ago.. My first thoughts were: This game is the best.. It’s wonderful.. I got to know it like this: I was looking for different games about parkour, I looked at reviews about each one, and more. Among them I found Mirror's Edge, after downloading it I launched it.. At the beginning, from my memory, there was something like a story.. Then there was training.

What the game is actually about: We play as a girl named Faith, in a city that has clearly gone a little into the future, in the city the police and others monitor all the actions of the residents, on the Internet, there is no freedom of speech. Faith is one of the runners who delivers information despite all the restrictions on freedom of speech. The dispatcher (I don’t know what else to call him) helps us almost the entire game; I don’t remember his name. In my opinion, the plot is excellent, five plus. I recommend it to everyone.

There are very few worthy games based on parkour and this game is the best in this genre. A dynamic soundtrack, well-made levels, parkour-based mechanics and an interesting plot are mixed into an amazing mix called Mirror's Edge

Thanks to the game for a happy childhood! Thanks to Faith, I started exercising. loads. I started running in the morning. I was inspired by the parkour movement! Not for long though... After a couple of “classes” I seriously injured my knee. But I don’t regret anything! It was an amazing time!
