Two years after the not very successful Need for Speed 2015, GgostGames presented a new game in the Need for Speed: Payback series at E3 2017. I was looking forward to the game from the moment of the presentation, but I still had concerns. After all, the game is again on Frostbite, and as you know, it’s not very suitable for racing.
In general, I got my hands on the game and, I must say, it pleasantly surprised me. Firstly, the cars are not irons, and secondly, in the first hour of the game I caught more drive than in the entire playthrough of NFS2015. And this already says a lot. There is no need to talk about tuning and styling. Here it is the same as in the last game, with the exception of one detail: the speed card. Seriously, who on their team is so brilliant that they replaced regular parts with speed cards? Their essence is that each card has its own purpose: acceleration, brakes, etc. They add points to the car's power. These cards can be bought in workshops, or you can win them in a race. Just like in The Crew. The card came out, you used it. The car's power looks the same as in Forza Horizon.
In general, the game in many ways looks like a Microsoft exclusive. Here you have rarities that need to be found in a certain place, and experience points that drop for everything, etc.
Competitions in the game include sprints, off-road racing, drag, drift and laps. It is clear that everyone needs their own car.
As for the plot, it looks like a hodgepodge of NFS Carbon, Transporter and Fast and Furious, mainly the fifth. The game has 3 main characters, each of whom has their own driving style.
In general, to sum up, we have: a driving gameplay with finally lively and aggressive police, a driving sound that makes you want to press the virtual gas pedal, a passable plot and a beautiful picture. I definitely recommend it.
