The Run was enticing with its idea of racing cool cars across the USA. Not surprisingly, the same idea became the basis for a feature-length film based on NFS three years later. However, as it turned out, this is just a “developed” version of the “black list”. Why "developed"? Yes, because the number of drivers who even remotely resemble individual characters does not even reach ten, which is already less than in the “black list”. The plot matches the action - an uninteresting premise, complete indifference to what is happening on the screen (the main character is not a character, but just a dummy driving a car in the literal and figurative sense), a banal ending.
Then, perhaps, it was damn exciting to drive and enjoy the process? Not at all! The gameplay is very weak, there is no tuning here, police sedans for some reason overtake supercars (and metro trains here reach more than 200 km/h!), accidents often happen even with a slight touch... The list goes on: lack of balance, failed attempts to make from an action game, unnecessary QTEs, disgusting implementation of systems for changing cars and scoring points...
Separately about the game world. Despite the attempt to make it varied, it turned out to be very boring. It often happens that when driving through a new stage, you get the feeling that you have passed a similar turn or segment a little earlier. The moment at the end of the game, when you go through the final stretch in tension, running away from the cops, and in the next race - again at the beginning of the race, is no longer so surprising, but it still looks stupid.
The soundtrack to any NFS has always been akin to an art form. I didn't remember a single song in this part. And in general, if there was no music at all, hardly anyone would have paid attention.
The game is for a maximum of one playthrough, which will not cause any positive impressions anyway.
