Games No Man's Sky All reviews Review from MrCrazyCat

Review of the biggest disappointment of 2016. Something like that.

The guys from Hello Games showed probably the most ambitious “galactic” project at E3 2013. There is simply an incredible number of planets that will be loaded in front of the player in real time. Create your own climate, surface, inhabitants. Millions of hours of research. It was an indie project at the AAA level (as stupid as that may sound). The game was postponed many times, modified, etc. And it seemed that the developers would prepare something else for us, something interesting and cool.

But on the day of release the world saw “this”... So screw up the game - you need talent here.

But what a wonderful PR! The marketers did their job perfectly. They are the ones who can be praised.

According to schedule. In principle, not bad for a turkey. It has its own style, in the spirit of old space illustrations. But for a game in 2016 it’s bad, very bad.

Gameplay. Ahaha. Seriously? And there is no gameplay! At all. And live as you want. Fly - collect - improve - fly further - collect - improve, and it will always be like this (well, you can shoot at asteroids). The entire game process became an endless grind of resources. However! Some stubborn person “completed” the game without leaving the starting planet. There is nothing to say here. All the abundance of planets is just for show, because they are all similar to each other with minor differences. Shooting...it would be better if it didn’t happen at all, honestly. It hurts my eyes and hurts my ears.

Music. Well, it seems to be playing. It even seems like a cosmic motif. But it’s better to find a couple of movie soundtracks and listen to them.

Multiplayer is the only thing that could save the game. But Hello Games relied on multiplayer and players. What's the point in solo (and boring) exploration of such a huge number of planets? As Allochka from “university” would say: “This is a KICK!” And to the point.

As a result we get a hyped-up imperfection. The proximity to AAA doesn't even stink. Poor and boring gameplay. Poor and boring combat system. Poor and boring planets. And the Hello Games office should be located in the depths of Mount Doom (this is in Mordor, if that).
