The first thing I would like to note is the terrible controls and even the lack of the basic “turn with the mouse” function, so don’t even bother without a gamepad.

The plot here is like in a cheap action movie, that is, unrealistic, if in the first three parts everything was more or less logical, then in the fourth part it starts to get fierce action, Leon solo destroys hundreds of enemies, cartridges are lying around in every hole, and for any caliber, and in short, the developers absolutely do not care about even the slightest realism. Well, we know that games are not loved for their realism, but on the contrary, the more magic, the better. The same thing happened with this game.
I’ll say right away that I’m not a fan of the fourth part, but I certainly won’t hate it like the fifth and sixth. At first it was unusual for me, after the first three parts, but this unusualness was more like a + sign, but when I completed about half of the game, I began to get fed up with it and I waited for the credits.
The final battle sucked, I scattered the boss like a kitten, all the expectations from the spectacular finale were shattered. There are also a lot of annoying QTEs in the game that are impossible to complete on the keyboard. The battle with Krauser is proof of this.
Ada is also unrealistic here. Well, how can you so effectively scatter hordes of enemies while wearing a long dress and heels? Of course, I understand that in the early 2000s it was fashionable to sexualize chicks as much as possible in games and movies, but here it was taken to the point of absurdity.
The feeling of horror, which was an integral part of the series until the fourth part, completely evaporated, although initially they planned to make horror with a fixed camera (later it was called Resident Evil 3.5). But the joker turned out great.
The graphics in the game seem to be normal, especially for those years, but it hurts the eyes, so you will have to install a mod for normal textures.
There is no official translation, you need to download the Russian language, which is done terribly, especially the voice acting, so it’s better not to install it, but to play with the English voice.
Well, everything seems to be fine with Mouzon here, although even for those years it’s kind of cheap.
Now the remake has been released and I advise you to come already, because it is semi-playable, but somehow the GREATEST experiment in the history of video games.
