Games Rise of the Ronin All reviews Review from Flixx

The hero of this game tries to help people, but at the same time tries to avenge his dead brother. To do this, he commits numerous acts of violence, killing many people and animals. Sometimes the player is given a choice: to spare a person or take his life.

This is a very cruel and bloody action game. Players use a variety of bladed weapons (including swords, katanas, and poles), as well as rifles, Japanese throwing stars, and other weapons. The bloodshed that occurs against both humans and animals borders on excessive, as do instances of beheadings and dismemberment. This is a very bloody game.

Even though this epic third-person open-world action-adventure game is very similar to other games, it is still interesting. Rise of the Ronin is set in the 19th century, at the end of the Edo era in Japan, and you become a secret warrior trying to make ancient Japan a better place.

What to talk about after finishing:

- You can talk about excessive violence in games. In Rise of the Ronin, players kill a lot of people and animals, and in very brutal and bloody ways. What is the appeal of using such intense imagery? Where do you think cruelty crosses the boundaries of what is permitted?

- We can talk about revenge. One of your motivations in this game is to avenge your dead brother. But revenge never ends well. Why do you think revenge is fun in games but terrible in real life?

- We can talk about player choice. When creating your character in this game, you can not only decide whether to make him male or female, choose his race and skin color, but also make him older or younger. What character did you create, and why did you make him this way and not another? Do you enjoy playing characters that reflect or are different from yourself?
