Welcome to another interactive movie from Supermassive. Of course, since this is mostly a movie and not a game, you should understand that in order to evaluate the gameplay, you need to show some leniency, but even so, everything clearly does not smell like flowers. QTE - consists of only two types (checking the reaction from Dead By Daylight and quickly pressing LMB), although I would like more of the QTE itself and its variety. In some plot points where it would be logical to insert a QTE, improving the gameplay component, there is none. The plot itself has a branched nature, that is, we start in a large number of places, which initially places a huge burden on the player, but later we get nothing. Everything leads to the same thing, just in a different wrapper, while in other games from supermassive there was a clear separation from the bad/good/secret ending, we have a variation of just one, which simply does not give anyone any sense of the two-way narrative. There are many questions left that the game itself does not know the answer to. In such moments, when a certain plot hole/misunderstanding appears, the character himself asks the question: “why is this?”, but does not receive an answer. This tries to give us the illusion that this misunderstanding is actually planned and leading to something, but it is not. Just some excuse. As you might have already guessed, since everything leads to the same thing, then the elections are bad? But, here everything is a little different. Very often what we mean by election is not what you choose. For example, in a moment where you want to help, a player can simply stand up and shout some kind of insult, which is not help, but in this place there could be a normal QTE, that’s by the way. Localization is half from talented people, half from people who know nothing at all about voice acting. Personally, I disliked one of the characters, solely because of the voice acting, and this is entirely her merit, since it influenced my choices and perception of the game as a whole, but in the moment when I listen to one female character, I get pissed off, just like for some reason, an added accent (as a distinctive feature), as well as a lack of skill on the part of the understudy. Because of the engine, which is constantly loading something, teleporting characters, the entire vibe that the graphics gives is killed. Even the auxiliary black screen does not help (which allows you to think about everything while the next scene loads). If we think from the other side, then in general the connection of the plot with the game Dead by daylight may cover up some of the disadvantages for fans of this game. Consider the adaptation of totems/pictures from until dawn/the dark pictures to dolls of the game characters, as well as the final plot twist associated with an entity from the Dead by daylight universe, but for me even this is not enough. Initially, the game was positioned not by a big DBD advertisement, but by an interactive movie that everyone can play, and sometimes this connection even infuriates, which is why the rating for other criteria is lower. It is clear that the generators are from dbd, but it is not necessary to shove them everywhere. Instead of devoting so much time to another game, they would devote it to their own. An open ending does not imply an explanation for plot holes, but the developers have a different opinion. However, I like all the games from supermassive, I love playing them, but this particular one... Probably the worst, even though I played dbd.
