Games The Witcher All reviews Review from RLD

The first Witcher can (and should) be called a classic of the role-playing game genre. It stands on a par with such legends as Diablo, Gothic, Dragon Age(Origins) and Dungeon Siege(I). For me, The Witcher took second position in the list of the best and favorite RPGs, right after Dragon Age Origins. There is so much variety in it that even if you play through the game twice, you won’t see half of it. Of course, there are no fundamental changes between adventures, but there are many options for completing quests and states of the world. But I won’t go into detail, I’ll just outline the pros and cons.

+ Variety of quests (including their variability)

+ Character development (huge number of perks)

+ Alchemy (many potions and use of various ingredients)

+ Combat system ( 3 development paths, 2 swords and finishing blows)

+ Signs (the only part of the series where you use absolutely all the signs (in my opinion))

+ World (beautiful and not small locations)

+ Voice acting ( some words have the wrong emphasis, but it doesn’t matter)

+ Erotic cards (but I don’t care somehow)

+ Characters (with character)

+ Poker game (addicts for more than an hour :D )

+ Monsters (detailed, often infuriating creatures)

+ Graphics (excellent for 2007, and still good)

+ Inserts (simply awesome art, bravo to the artist)

+ Something else there ...

- Weapons and armor (unfortunately, there is very little of it)

- Slow Geralt (especially annoying when you have to run back and forth)

- Absolutely identical crypts and houses

- Small inventory (some junk has to be thrown away :D)

- Battle sounds (little believability)

Overall 9.5 out of 10
