Completed undertale
Started off calmly. I smiled at some of the conventions, but overall I perceived it as a waste of time for the sake of humor and banter at the player.
And then bang. This all turned out to be serious lore, and there were really funny characters and dramatic (!!!) scenes.
If To the moon can be called a game with a stretch, but it worked like a drama with a great plot, then Undertale is just that, an excellent game that greatly amuses and surprises the player in his adventure.
But here’s the thing, the game has “tiring moments” and “moments that make you think that this is all a big joke,” but there are really brilliant moves and great jokes. The pace of the game does not always seem ideal, but it almost always tries to surprise you with something. There is not a single really noticeable flaw in the game, other than being boring. When the game ceases to be a linear narrative, and allows you to look for fun things on your own, the gameplay itself begins to become terribly boring, and the stubborn surroundings cease to be so amusing. It is treated with banal breaks, although there are obvious holes in the pacing of the narrative.
5 out of 5
You have to sit down to it, wanting to while away a few evenings as if it were the only comedy-adventure, immediately stopping playing when it begins to tire.
The game deserves rave reviews on metacritics, although To the Moon is my favorite. In the story, she's more... ideal, or something. But I won’t forget Undertale even if I wanted to. At least because of the last boss. Almost the best final battle that I remember.
And now I hate flowers. Little bastards.
