Nine years after the release of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, data miners discovered a cut ending in which Yennefer surrenders the Lodge of Sorceresses into the hands of Emhyr. This was done thanks to the REDkit modding tool from CD Project RED.

YouTuber xLetalis, together with modder glassfish, managed to restore this scene and demonstrate it to the general public. In the extended ending, Geralt, after the battle on Undvik and Ciri leaving to fight the White Frost, comes to his senses in a medical tent in the Nilfgaard camp. The Witcher can discuss Ciri's disappearance with Yennefer, and the two of them head to the Lodge to discover the whereabouts of the ash-haired witcher.

Since some of the animation was not done, it is impossible to see what exactly Yennefer did, but after they manage to spot Ciri, the Nilfgaardians capture Fringilla, Philippa and Margarita. The sorceresses accuse their former colleague of betrayal as they are led away. It is noteworthy that before this episode, Triss Merigold can be found in the camp, and Yennefer helps the red-haired sorceress escape before the arrest of the Lodge, regardless of their relationship with Geralt.

In the cut 20-minute scene, you can find other interesting episodes. For example, different envoys arrive for the body of Jarl an Krayt, depending on who became the ruler of Skellige. And if you tell Emhyr about Avallac'h, he will order to kill the elf as soon as they can find him.

Probably, CD Project RED decided to get rid of these scenes shortly before release due to excessive length. This explains why the cut ending has voice acting and is almost entirely animated.

Earlier, the English-speaking voice actor of Geralt said that he did not expect the success of The Witcher 3.
