The author of Mortal Kombat hinted at a separate game about the cult fighting duo
Ed Boon, one of the creators of the Mortal Kombat series, again teased the audience with the development of Shaolin Monks 2. According to him, the main characters of the new part will be Sub-Zero and Scorpion.
Rumors about work on a sequel to Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks come from various insiders year after year, but they have not received any official confirmation. The first part was released back in 2005 on PlayStation 2 and Xbox, and the plot revolved around Liu Kang and Kung Lao. The game was rated quite well by gamers and critics, but it never got a sequel.
Recently, Ed Boon vaguely hinted that Shaolin Monks 2 is still in NetherRealm Studios' plans. Moreover, the main characters of the new game could be fighters from the cult duo:
Without a doubt, if (when?) we do one, it will be Scorpion and Sub-zero. https://t.co/P8PAf5bU6D
