New details about the upcoming role-playing game Dragon Age: The Veilguard, currently being developed by BioWare, have surfaced online. Recently, the project's authors shared information about armor and equipment.
Here's what has been revealed:
- The character has slots for armor, helmet, belt, amulet, two types of weapons, and two rings;
- The companion has slots for armor, ring, accessories, and weapon;
- The game will feature so-called «desired armor» for the character. It will be visible during character creation. The system will show recommended medium and high-level armor for the chosen character class;
- The player can switch between displaying the character's armor and everyday clothing to see how they will look in various scenes;
- Most of the armor obtainable in the game is specifically designed for the character class chosen by the player. Thus, if the character is a mage, they will find armor for that class in a chest. Each companion has their own unique armor;
- There is a special transmogrification system that allows transferring the characteristics of one armor to another. This is useful when the player likes the design of an armor but not its features;
- The transmogrification system is also relevant for companions;
- Belts can enhance the effectiveness of healing potions, and at higher levels, provide additional effects such as temporary invulnerability.
Recall that Dragon Age: The Veilguard is being developed for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. The release is scheduled for this year. Earlier, the authors detailed the «immortality» feature.
