The official «voice» of Geralt from The Witcher series, Doug Cockle, has hinted at the return of the grey-haired witcher in the fourth installment. He confirmed that the hero will not be at the center of the plot, as before.
The actor gave a short interview to the YouTube channel Fall Damage, in which he talked about his experience of voicing and recalled iconic phrases from the games. Among other things, he was asked what he knows about The Witcher 4.
I can't say anything about it. What we know is that Geralt will be part of the game, we just don't know how much, and the game won't focus on Geralt. So it's not about him this time. We don't know who it's about... I have not seen any script yet—I mean, I couldn't tell you if I did.
The actor immediately hinted that he «could lie through his teeth» if he already had the script in his hands. By the way, Doug Cockle himself would not mind returning to the role of Geralt in the new part of the Witcher saga. Last year, he willingly shared his theories about the plot, and also stated that he was ready to play his character until the end of his career.
Little is known about The Witcher 4 right now. The project is preparing for full-scale production this year, and a team of 400 CD Projekt RED employees is developing it.
Earlier, the «voice» of Geralt admitted that he did not expect the success of The Witcher 3 at all.
