Beta version of the iconic Half-Life has been made publicly available
Recently, models and animations from the beta version of the original Half-Life have leaked onto the Internet, but a real treasure was discovered the other day. Former developer and tester Chad Jessup found a disk with an early build of the legendary shooter, which is now available to everyone.
According to him, he was simply sorting through the junk in the attic and came across his old CD with the Half-Life beta from October 20, 1998. Although this version of the game was created a month before its release, it still contained new and cut content.
One of the enthusiasts helped the tester upload the build to the Internet Archive website, thanks to which anyone can download it. However, there are still some problems: to launch it correctly, you will have to delete some files, and Half-Life itself constantly tries to connect to a long-closed multiplayer server. However, some craftsmen were able to launch the build and even share screenshots from the pre-release version of the game:
Recall that recently the developers of the «fan Half-Life 3» released a teaser with the release date of the first chapter of Project Borealis. Players will be able to return to Ravenholm this fall.
