CD Projekt RED clearly shouldn't have abandoned its engine — as YouTuber NextGen Dreams has proven, it can be used to make truly photorealistic games. This time, he showed how the Cyberpunk 2077 heroes and a ride through Night City will look with a new graphics mod.

In the new video, he showed Panam Palmer, Judy Alvarez (with her appearance from the Phantom Liberty ending), Johnny Silverhand, Adam Smasher, Jackie Wells, and Solomon Reed from the Phantom Liberty story add-on. The characters now look like real people. The video also shows photorealistic cars and a motorcycle ride through Night City, which looks like a GoPro recording.

This beauty was achieved with the help of the updated DreamPunk mod version 2.1, DLSS 3.7.10 and path tracing. YouTube users were also impressed with the result:

Ok say no more, you convinced me to buy an RTX 5090 next year.

The fact that the engine can produce such a good picture raises the question — is Unreal Engine capable of the same.

You can almost hear the videocard melting the other components in the case.

That, plus a VR mod, plus a next-gen VR headset from Valve — and farewell real life.

Earlier, NextGen Dreams shared another demonstration of photorealistic Cyberpunk 2077, which can be confused with a recording on camera.

Recently, the developers of Cyberpunk 2077 showed another early version of the location from Dog City. Before that, a fan posted an incredible cosplay of Adam Smasher.
