Along with the first ratings for Dragon Age: The Veilguard, critics' reviews of Life is Strange: Double Exposure have arrived. The game was rated quite average — 73 points out of 100 on Open Critic and 74 points on Metacritic.

Among the «pluses», critics noted Max's rather well-written story. The girl retained both her already recognizable character traits and harmoniously changed as she grew older. Reviewers also praised the visuals, the spirit of the series, the intrigue, and the likable characters. On the other hand, many found the narrative to be muddled, and also noted the neglect of the choices in the previous games and the rushed ending. The technical state of the project also lets down at times, judging by the comments.
It's great that Max Caulfield is back, but I'm not sure she should have returned at all. A somewhat unnecessary sequel that still tells a compelling story, albeit a little messy and unfinished.
Life is Strange fans will likely enjoy this game more than those starting from scratch, but Double Exposure is worth a try if you want to get immersed in a twisted mystery. Although I'd still say try the original first.
Despite its flaws, Life is Strange: Double Exposure is a promising gift for fans. Its dark detective story requires you to follow two separate timelines with only a few breaks.
