A new account protection system has appeared in the Steam mobile application, designed to discourage scammers from hacking accounts. Now, when attempting to log in from a different IP address, the platform may ask you to answer several questions.

Judging by the screenshots of users, the system will ask you to answer several questions when registering from a new or unusual IP. In the first case, you need to name the device from which you are authorizing, in the second, you need to select the location closest to you (there is an option for those who use a change of region). The third question contains several answer choices for the purpose of logging in. All but the «Other» option are typical for intruders.

If the data does not match or the user selects a suspicious answer, authorization will be interrupted, and the account owner will receive a notification about a hacking attempt. In this case, you can accept several attempts to log in to the account.

Earlier, Valve said when Steam Deck 2 might be released.
