Eric Hauter's YouTube channel has released an hour and a half of Avowed gameplay, a new role-playing game from Obsidian Entertainment. The blogger showed an early build of the game with various mechanics and content from the very beginning.
The game really does resemble The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim in many ways: a player arriving on a ship can explore the locations available to him in any way convenient, searching various corners, completing quests, collecting supplies and resources, and fighting opponents. The battles for the magic build are implemented in an interesting way — the main character uses a magic wand and a grimoire with spells. By the way, Eric Hauter praised the early build, calling the project «a beautiful, deep, and exciting game.» He is also confident that the new RPG from Obsidian will be one of the best role-playing games of the next year.
Avowed will be released on February 18, 2025 for PC and Xbox Series X/S. The game will immediately go to Game Pass.
Pre-orders for Avowed were previously opened on Steam and for consoles. The developers also explained why they abandoned romances with companions.
