Avowed Will Have Different Ways to Start Quests

GamesRadar interviewed Avowed's location designer to learn more about the game's world. According to him, the player will have a lot of freedom in how to start a particular quest.

In an interview with journalists, Berto Ritger explained how the game will adapt to the player's decisions. Obsidian Entertainment decided to stick to non-linearity, so some quests can be obtained in unusual ways.

I think almost every, if not every, quest in the game has it more than one way to start it. You can do things out of order and pick up items and give them to people that want them, or kill a character or whatever, like, you can play things out of order... We want to just constantly foster that sense of exploration, wanderlust and just getting lost pleasantly.

According to Berto Ritger, this way the gameplay will be personal for each player. There's a good chance that you'll miss some content on your first playthrough, or, on the contrary, find something unexpected.

Awowed is scheduled to be released on February 18, 2025, on PC and Xbox Series X/S.

The action RPG's marketing campaign was recently marred by a skirmish between Elon Musk and art director Matt Hansen. The latter responded with a mockery to a remark about pronouns in the game, which resulted in a serious scandal and revealed serious problems at Obsidian.
